Based on the awful dental experiences I had as a child, I should never have become a dentist.
From 4 to 6 years old, I had some small, routine, fillings and it was traumatic. I still remember the sharp piercing of the needle as it went into my jaw, the pressure from the rubber dam clamp, the menacing sound of the drill, the terrible taste of the materials, and the strange off-putting smell of the dental office.
By the time I was 7 years old, I quit cooperating at the dentist because I thought they were always going to hurt me. My mom was so embarrassed with my behavior, she quit taking me and I ended up with some bad teeth as a teenager.
Eventually I had my teeth fixed, but I never wanted any other child to experience what I went through.
So when I became a Pediatric Dentist, it became my mission to always make sure every experience for every child feels safe, comfortable, and calm.
Rest assured your child will never have an experience like I did. We do everything we can to create a positive, enjoyable environment that will keep them looking forward to every visit.
